Netherlands-based PerfoTec and shippers worldwide have conducted trials of the company's Flexfresh Liner bags.
During the trials, which lasted for more than three weeks, the shippers transported blueberries packed in punnets from South America to Europe, with and without the Flexfresh Liner bag.

Loose blueberries were also shipped with or without the Flexfresh Liner solution.
The results of the trial showed that shipping loose blueberries offers an average weight loss of 19.96%, while the product shipped with Flexfresh Liner bag resulted in a weight loss of 0.76% after seven weeks of the trial, representing a 96% weight reduction.
PerfoTec said that the resulting transit times of up to five weeks have a large effect on the weight and quality of the fresh produce packed in Flexfresh.
