OptiGroup, a business essential distributor, has announced the acquisition of Danish packaging company Ubro SystemPac (USP).
USP, which was formed from the merger of Ubro and Systempac in 2010, specialises in packaging products and a complete range of end-of-line packaging machines.
The acquisition is set to bolster OptiGroup’s offerings in packaging solutions and strengthen its position for packaging, machines, and services in the Nordic packaging market.
USP, known for its tailored packaging solutions for companies of all sizes, recently reported a turnover of approximately €12m ($13.07m).
Following the transaction, the company will continue to operate under its current brand within OptiGroup’s Packaging business area.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
OptiGroup Packaging senior vice-president Jesper Hall said: “We are pleased to continue our expansion within the Packaging business area and look forward to welcoming Ubro SystemPac to OptiGroup.
“By adding Ubro SystemPac to our existing operations, we will further improve our market position for packaging, especially in the area of packaging machine services in the Nordics.”
OptiGroup supports more than 105,000 B2B customers across various sectors, including manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, and the graphics industry.
With its head office located in Gothenburg, Sweden, the company recently delivered approximately €1.5bn in sales and has a workforce of more than 2,300 employees.
