Orbis has acquired US-based firm Hinkle Manufacturing, which specialises in the design and development of returnable and expendable dunnage for part protection in the automotive industry.
Established in 1962, Hinkle caters to the protective packaging demands of the automotive industry. It also produces trays and other plastic components at its thermoforming plant in Dearborn, Michigan.

The parties did not reveal the financial terms of the deal.
Orbis president Bill Ash said: “The expertise and capabilities of Hinkle Manufacturing expand our portfolio of custom reusable packaging products and bring even more solutions to the evolving and growing needs that we are seeing in the marketplace.
“Our commitment to providing unmatched products and services includes ensuring that our customers have the best options for their reusable packaging needs.”
Last month, Orbis acquired Response Packaging, which is based in Piedmont, South Carolina, US, and manufactures reusable custom fabric dunnage and fabricated steel rack solutions.

Orbis, which is a subsidiary of US-based corrugated and plastic packaging manufacturer Menasha, produces plastic reusable totes, bulk containers, pallets and dunnage.
With operations in more than 50 locations across North America and Europe, the company offers reusable packaging management services to allow tracking and management of assets in the supply chain.
