Pacific Atlantic, a supplier of biodegradable packaging products, has launched a new range of flexible packaging that will increase the shelf-life of bananas.

The new packaging bags increase the shelf-life by up to ten days and slow the natural ageing process of the fruit while preventing bacteria formation.

The bags also absorb the release of gasses and can be re-used six times, the company claims.

Each bag has a ‘punch-out’ indicator and lets the consumer know the number of times the bag has been used and when to stop using it, according to fruitnet.com.
