UK-based Pollard Boxes has invested in new manufacturing and testing facilities and equipment to enhance its capabilities.

As part of the investment, valued at around £300,000, Pollard Boxes has established a new design and innovation hub at its headquarters in Leicester, UK, to support customers development of new pack designs.

Incorporating new computer-aided design (CAD) and plotting equipment supported by Kasemake software, the centre will also enable Pollard to help customers introduce and develop innovative new concepts.

As part of the recent investment, a new Kolbus DA 260 Casemaker that can construct cases / jackets with up to seven pieces of board has been also installed at the Pollard Boxes facility.

The newly installed solution will help the company to meet the increasing demand for front-opening packs in the drinks sector.

"The investment in new equipment will ensure we are able to deliver the highest levels of service and support to our growing customer base."

Pollard Boxes commercial director Peter Conner said: “We are continuing to see strong demand for our products and services across several key markets, in particular the luxury sector.

The company has also upgraded its testing facilities and installed new equipment, which will evaluate the ability of its solutions to withstand different environments and the demands of the supply chain.

The new equipment include an ink rub tester, a programmable temperature and humidity chamber, an ageing oven, a compression tester, and a simulator transport table.
