RPC Group’s affiliate RPC M&H Plastics has designed a wine bottle for UK-based firm Garçon Wines using 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

The eco-friendly, 750ml slimline wine bottle is the result of Garçon Wines’ cooperation with RPC M&H Plastics and investment in research and development for the bottle-manufacturing industry in the UK.

Garçon Wines has collaborated with online florist Bloom & Wild for the delivery of the wine bottle to customers through a letterbox. The bottle has been designed in order to ensure that the packaging can fit through a standard-sized letterbox.

“As a responsible company, our aim has been to create the most environmentally-friendly wine bottle solution that would innovate and revolutionise the way consumers receive wine and businesses supply wine.”

The product has a similar shape to Bordeaux wine bottles and was developed in an effort to cut down plastic pollution.

The company noted that the bottle is sourced from a recycled material that is lighter than glass and has the ability to withstand the postal system.

Garçon Wines co-founder and CEO Santiago Navarro said: “As a responsible company, our aim has been to create the most environmentally-friendly wine bottle solution that would innovate and revolutionise the way consumers receive wine and businesses supply wine.
