Sealed Air (SEE) and Koenig & Bauer have announced a new strategic partnership to develop state-of-the-art digital printing technology, equipment and services to enhance packaging design capabilities significantly.

The partnership seeks to expand the boundaries of printed packaging and offer faster and more cost-effective solutions for brand owners to promote their products.

The companies’ plan for the partnership

SEE and Koenig & Bauer have signed a non-binding letter of intent to develop solutions that will dramatically scale and deliver digitally printed materials faster.

The Koenig & Bauer RotaJET-series of digital printing presses will feature SEE’s Prismiq intellectual property, software and hardware. The partnership will also expand market opportunities for both companies and result in co-branded digital printing presses.

Enhanced capabilities and empowerment of brand owners

SEE’s prismiq™ solutions were launched last year. The solutions empower brand owners to increase speed to market with higher quality and more cost-effective designs.

The partnership will further accelerate the digitalisation of printing platforms, allowing both companies to expand their portfolio of solutions.

The partnership is anticipated to substantially increase market opportunities for both companies

The partnership between SEE and Koenig & Bauer ultimately seeks to enhance packaging design capabilities by developing state-of-the-art digital printing technology, equipment and services.

The resulting solutions will offer faster and more cost-effective ways for brand owners to promote their products and connect with consumers through digitally enhanced packaging.

The collaboration is expected to significantly expand the market opportunities for both companies, with co-branded digital printing presses among the possible outcomes.
