He will join from FLSmidth, a Danish engineering group, where he has served as group CEO since 2022, leading a business transformation programme.

This programme included financial and operational restructuring, cost-reduction, and portfolio optimisation through a major divestment and merger.

SIG doubled FLSmidth’s value during his time as its CEO.

Keto stated: “I am thrilled to be appointed CEO of SIG. The group has a high-quality business model, with engineering, innovation and sustainability at its core. I very much look forward to leading the company into its next chapter and building on its strong foundation.”

His earlier career includes senior roles at Nokia Networks and KONE.

He has served as a board director and member of the audit committee at Normet Group since 2019.

SIG Board chairman Ola Rollén added: “I am delighted to welcome Mikko to the Group as CEO. He brings an impressive track record of driving business and cultural transformations in engineering-led systems businesses.

“We are confident that he will guide SIG to release its growth and innovation potential. We believe that under his direction, we will build a simpler, leaner and more agile company that delivers enhanced value to all stakeholders.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Anne Erkens, our CFO [chief financial officer], for stepping in as interim CEO during this transition period.”

Established in 1853, SIG provides aseptic carton, bag-in-box and spouted pouch packaging solutions.

The company reported revenue of €3.3bn ($3.82bn) in 2024 and produces 57 billion packs annually. It has 9,600 employees across more than 100 countries.

In early November 2025, Austria-based SalzburgMilch became the first company in Europe to introduce its dairy products in SIG’s DomeMini carton bottle format.

The new on-the-go packaging, developed by SIG, was launched in October 2023.

The DomeMini design offers a smart solution for mobile dairy consumption while opening co-packing and private-label possibilities for brands and retailers.
