US-based packaging provider Sonoco has introduced a new range of clear cans, which have been designed to pack McCall Farms’ New Glory Farms slow-cooked vegetable products, across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states in the US.

Developed as an alternative to traditional metal cans, Sonoco’s new TruVue cans are currently available in more than 400 Harris Teeter and Ingles stores in the US.

Sonoco has used its patented freshlock technology to produce the cans, which include a highly engineered, multilayer plastic substrate that allows consumers to see the product inside.

"The cans have been tested in high-temperature and pressure environments, and are compatible with existing filling equipment."

Featuring an EZ-open lid and metal bottom, the cans have been tested in high-temperature and pressure environments, and are compatible with existing filling equipment.

Packed in TruVue cans, the New Glory Farms range includes seven products that take three times longer to cook than traditional canned vegetables.

In April 2016, Sonoco launched three new solutions, which include RiteSize Caulk Cartridge, RainGuard weather-resistant fibre cartridge and SealMax 2-ply label, at Spring Adhesives and Sealant Council (ASC) Expo, in New Orleans, North America.
