Norwegian manufacturer of jams and ready meal products Stabburet, a member of the Orkla Group, has selected the Orbit Closure from Crown Food Holdings for its Nora’s Homemade Jam re-launch.

The Orbit Closure from the Crown Food Europe Cans and Closures business unit is currently available in both 63mm and 70mm diameters, comprising a central panel that is vacuum sealed to the jar and an outer ring that acts as the opening and re-closing device.

Crown said its design reduces the torque required to remove the closure, which makes it twice as easy to open compared to standard twist closures, enhancing convenience for consumers of all ages.

Without making significant changes to existing capping equipment, the closure can be integrated into packaging.

Orbit also allows brand owners to retain the similar glass finish used with standard twist closures, minimising changeover costs.

Crown has worked with Stabburet from concept to final implementation of the new packaging and provided support with the cap graphics to help Stabburet communicate the benefits of the new Orbit Closure.
