Tekni-Plex has acquired cap and closure sealing materials producer Sancap Liner Technology for an undisclosed amount.
The latest acquisition is expected to enhance the company’s production of heat-seal liners.
Tekni-Plex senior vice-president David Andrulonis said: "Sancap’s heat-seal liner production capability makes this an ideal strategic acquisition for Tekni-Plex.
"It complements our existing liner technology and will enable us to service increasing demand from our global customers with an even broader product line.
The US-based Sancap produces heat-seal, pressure-sensitive and gasket-sealing liners for pharmaceutical and food solutions.
It also produces higher-barrier Saran laminations and coated pouch / bag structures for food, liquor, confectionery and chemical applications.

By GlobalDataThe company has acquired two other liner businesses as part of its expansion.
Tekni-Plex acquired India-based Ghiya Extrusions, a supplier of expanded polyethylene (EPE) foam closure liners, as well as assets of Tech-Seal, a manufacturer of closure liners and inner seals.
The acquisition of Ghiya Extrusions complements Tekni-Plex’s existing business in India and expands its closure liner business globally.
Last year, the company’s subsidiary Tri-Seal developed new laminated, aluminium foil / foam barrier liners for roll-on pilfer proof (ROPP) wine closures.
When used as an alternative to tin / saran liners, the new Tri-Vin liners preserve the aroma and taste of wine.
