Tetra Pak has announced the global launch of its Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge 1000 Edge with a LightCap 30 screwcap.

According to the company, the carton incorporates the latest closure technology and provides cost benefits, robust stacking capabilities and environmental advantages.

The carton is already available with Forest Stewardship Council-certified packaging material, and will be offered with green polyethylene closures during 2012.

The carton adds a sloping top panel to the shape of the Tetra Brik Aseptic carton, which makes it easier to access and grasp the ridged cap.

The sloping top also means that the package does not need to be lifted high off the surface to use and, together with the 30mm opening, makes pouring easier.

According to Tetra Pak, the pack also has five visible printing surfaces and a square bottom format, and has the ability to maximise the size of the opening while minimising the use of raw materials.
