Tetra Pak has introduced the new Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM packaging that enables companies to market liquid dairy and juice drinks as ice creams and frozen products.

Eliminating the need for further investment into production equipment and chilled distribution system, customers can use their existing production processes to manufacture dairy and juice drinks, which can then distributed at room temperature in small carton pouches.

The pouches can be turned into frozen products subsequently in shops or a consumer’s home.

“The response has been extremely positive because these products meet the needs of both parents and children.”

To be produced on the A1 Tetra Pak filling machine platform, the packaging comes with an opening that has been pre-applied using Micro Injection Moulding technology.  It can be opened entirely by pulling the tab.

Chinese food company Want Want is the first firm to trial the Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM.

Want Want Ice Product business unit general manager Wang Jin Ping said: “We announced these new products to our distributors in early September.
