UK-based speciality packaging manufacturer Parkside Flexibles has launched a new flexible sandwich wrap packaging solution.
Known as the Parkside spiral wrap, the new packaging allows consumers to peel away the packaging in a spiral motion, revealing the tortilla wrap, roll or sandwich inside.
Parkside sales head Paula Birch said: "As consumers’ lives become busier, many people just want to grab lunch and go.
"We want to take advantage of the growing popularity and demand for chilled and prepared convenience foods.
"Our new spiral wrap solution is a simple hassle-free pack and has been designed with convenience front of mind."
Developed using specialised film, the new pack is wrapped at a specific angle and then heat-sealed to form the spiral pack opening structure.

The earlier version of the sandwich packs included a cardboard inner liner, which has been removed by the new Parkside design to reduce packaging.
Last year, the company invested in a new product development facility in Normanton, UK, as well as a fully equipped laboratory to support its customers’ innovation processes.
Parkside has offices in the UK, Singapore and Malaysia.
