UPM Raflatac has launched the new RafBio PE sustainable film that is made from plant-based materials and can be used in multiple domestic applications.

Introduced as an alternative to fossil-based films, the flexible RafBio PE makes it suitable for squeezable bottles and contoured containers used in home and other personal care applications.

The new film also enhances the company’s RafBio portfolio of bio-based labelling solutions.

Developed using sugarcane ethanol, RafBio PE contains more than 80% renewable plant-based raw materials that significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout its lifecycle.

The company has also combined the new solution with its RP37 adhesive that will allow customers to use it in multipurpose labelling applications.

At the Labelexpo Europe from 25 to 28 September in Brussels, Belgium, the company will demonstrate and showcase its sustainable label solutions, including RAFNXT+, RPMD, Rafbio PE85, RafMore and RafCycle.

UPM Raflatac focuses on manufacturing pressure sensitive labelling solutions and films that are used in multiple industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, beverage and other security applications.
