US-based seafood firm Genova Seafood has unveiled its new range of yellowfin and albacore tuna, which is packed in easy-open cans.

Equipped with pull-tab lids, the portable cans are expected to attract more consumers to have seafood across the US.

Available in three and five ounce individual cans, as well as five and seven ounce quad packs in the most of the US supermarkets, Clubs (Costco and BJs) and Walmart, the new range will also meet the consumer’s demand to prepare recopies faster.

Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020, which was released earlier this year, has recommended the US people to consume seafood at least twice a week instead of other protein foods.

The report also noted that the average seafood consumption in the country is below recommendations for all age and sex groups.

Genova Seafood senior brand manager Gautam Malla said: “Discerning foodies are seeking high-protein, convenient products that also deliver on taste.

“We’re thrilled to offer easy-open cans to allow time-crunched consumers to enjoy the decadent taste of Genova on-the-go.”

The company has also launched a series of quick and easy tuna recipes along with the new packaging.

Currently, Genova offers several tuna products packed in olive oil, a traditional Mediterranean method.
