It features additional measurements and more sampling points to widen monitoring coverage and deliver the key parameters needed to stabilise wet end operations.

Valmet business manager, board and paper analysers and automation solutions Bogdan Pavlovic stated: “By expanding measurement capabilities, Valmet not only enhances operational efficiency, but also supports more environmentally responsible production practices, fully aligned with our mission to unlock resource efficiency.”

Improved wet end control supports consistent sheet formation, optimised chemical usage and reduced water and energy consumption, leading to better quality and higher efficiency.

The latest Valmet wet end analyser supports continuous online sampling of total fibre and fines consistency and ash consistency across up to three lines.

Combining these continuous measurements with the Valmet IQ quality control system helps keep white water properties steady and resilient to process upsets.

The analyser is equipped with ultra-high-definition camera optics and image processing tools to provide detailed visibility into headbox fibre properties that influence final product quality.

Precise morphological analysis can be used to optimise fibre-blend ratios and accurately dose retention chemicals.

In addition to the advanced fibre imaging and continuous sampling functions, the next-generation unit introduces oxygen measurement to support optimisation of biocide dosing, and a new filtrate sampling capability that extends analysis to thick stock.

Last year, Valmet expanded its IQ Quality Control System (QCS) portfolio with four new IQ Measurements for the packaging and nonwoven industries.
