WebstaurantStore has expanded its automated packaging capabilities with the addition of three CVP Impack machines from Sparck Technologies, a Packsize Company.
These machines are being installed at the company’s new facility in Maryland, US, which will increase the total number of CVP Impack machines at its North American distribution centres to 13.
The new machines are expected to be fully operational this month.
WebstaurantStore made the initial deployment of Sparck’s CVP Impack machines in 2020.
Some of WebstaruantStore’s facilities have achieved over 95% uptime, with the machines demonstrating reliability and productivity, operating 90% of the time, according to the company.
The CVP Impack system is designed to handle more than 50,000 stock-keeping units (SKUs) of various sizes, optimising packaging by reducing time, corrugate size, and void fill consumption.

WebstaurantStore implementation director John Bohn said: “The decision to add three more CVP Impack machines is a direct result of the success we’ve experienced with Sparck’s automated packaging technology.
“From our first machine to the recent installation to our 13th, Sparck has been a seamless partner, offering exceptional service, attention to detail and consistent support. Their technology and team have both been integral to our success.”
Sparck Technologies’ support has included biweekly performance reviews and on-site technician training.
The first ten CVP Impack machines have significantly increased packaging speeds, operating seven times faster than manual methods and reducing labour costs, noted Sparck.
Sparck also stated that the retraction rate is just above 5%.
The operational savings achieved through this automation have allowed WebstaurantStore to reinvest in its business.
Sparck sales senior vice-president David Gray said: “We are thrilled to once again expand our partnership with WebstaurantStore and support their continued growth with the installation of three additional CVP Impack machines.
“Our fit-to-size technology is designed to deliver significant efficiency gains, and it’s clear WebstaurantStore has seen real, measurable results. We look forward to helping them achieve even greater levels of operational success.”
In April 2025, Packsize announced the acquisition of Sparck Technologies, aligning with its strategy to expand globally in the automated packaging sector.
