US-based World Centric has expanded its NoTree collection of 100% compostable hot cups and bowls with the addition of new tree-free paper cold cups.
The compostable and environmentally friendly cups are made from bamboo paper. They serve as an alternative to traditional cold cups made from petroleum plastic and wood paper.

Starting this month, the cups will be available in the US in 12oz 16oz and 22oz sizes.
All cups are Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI)-certified and meet the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D6400 standard for compostability. They also conform to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines for food use.
The cups are available in a natural tan colour following the World Centric’s move to avoid the process of bleaching during the manufacturing process.
In a commercial composting system, they are expected to decompose in three to six months.

The NoTree collection includes plates, utensils and other compostable plant-based products.
Bamboo is an alternative to tree fibre, as it is renewable and grows quickly.
World Centric uses plant-based materials and design to develop foodservice and retail products across tableware, cutlery and food packaging sectors.
