Amcor will provide Ginstberg with a 28mm two-part tamper-evident closure made for glass bottles.

The 28mm Flat Cap for Glass Tamper Evident has a patented lightweight structure intended to provide product protection and security, while also being simple for consumers to open and use.

Designed for both still and sparkling drinks, the closure can handle carbonation levels of up to 4.3 volume.

It is also offered with ISCC+ certification to enable traceability of recycled content.

Ginstberg is officially classified as natural mineral water.

Ginstberg COO Evi Van De Velde said: “Consumer experience of our brand begins with the packaging, so it is essential that the closure is durable and reliable and easy to open and reclose, as well as offering the reassurance of tamper evidence.

“The Amcor closure has both the necessary technical and aesthetic attributes.”

The cap forms part of Amcor’s broader closure portfolio for still and sparkling products, as well as for glass and plastic bottles in a range of sizes.

Amcor’s closure line-up, including the 28mm Flat Cap for Glass TE, 28mm PolyVent and 28mm PolyGuard models, is already used in reusable bottle systems and presented as supporting circularity and compliance with regulations.

Amcor Global Rigid Packaging Solutions beverage closures & home care triggers product line manager Uli Kolbert said: “The closure is the consumer’s first interaction with the packaging and therefore has a very important role to play in delivering consumer acceptance and brand loyalty.

“Our refillable ready range is designed to meet the needs of both glass and PET [polyethylene terephthalate] bottles, ensuring brands can adapt to evolving regulation across Europe.”

Earlier this week, Amcor announced its collaboration with UK start-up Kelpi to explore next-generation coating solutions. Amcor’s research and development teams are reviewing Kelpi’s coating platform, which uses a seaweed-based material.
