The addition of UPAC’s expertise provides a single supply point for vital manufacturing supplies.

Australia-based Foodcare has agreed to acquire UPAC, a producer and distributor of food packaging.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a LinkedIn post, the company described the transaction as a “strategic step” to strengthen its position in the market that will improve its product and technical know-how in food packaging.

The addition of UPAC’s expertise provides a single supply point for vital manufacturing supplies.

UPAC has been involved in food packaging for more than five decades and focuses on printed food packaging, including printed bags and flexible formats.

This experience will enhance Foodcare's ability to provide consultative support to customers, for dealing with complex packaging needs.

Founded in 2004, Foodcare operates as a manufacturer and distributor of production-critical consumables for the Australian food and beverage manufacturing sector.

The latest deal follows other mergers in Australia’s packaging industry this year.

In September 2025, Australia-based print and packaging materials distributor Ball & Doggett entered an agreement in principle to buy Impak Films, which offers flexible packaging solutions.

Impak Films, founded in 2005 by Andy Newman and Brian Christy, will retain its operational independence and employees upon acquisition. It will continue operations from its Tullamarine facility in Victoria.

In early 2025, Australian sustainable disposable packaging company BioPak purchased domestic peer Bygreen, the country’s top importer of eco-friendly straws, barware and wooden tableware.
