Lecta has launched Creaset GP PFAS-Free FP, a new one-side-coated gloss paper designed for flexible packaging applications.

The new product is free of per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are often used for their grease-resistant properties.

The new offering will deliver the same performance as traditional packaging materials but with a significantly reduced environmental impact.

It is intended to meet growing demand from consumers and regulators for packaging that is both safe and sustainable.

In a press release, Lecta stated: “With growing consumer awareness and evolving regulations around the use of harmful chemicals in packaging, Creaset GP PFAS-free FP meets the demand for responsible materials, without sacrificing visual appeal or functionality.”

With its grease-resistant qualities, Creaset GP PFAS-free FP is particularly suitable for food packaging applications where the prevention of grease penetration is crucial.

Lecta has engineered the paper to ensure that it maintains the necessary flexibility, which is a key requirement for many types of flexible packaging.

The product is part of its wider work on sustainable development.

In July 2025, Lecta expanded its Metalvac metallised paper range with a new product, Metalvac Seal Oxygen Barrier, a recyclable flexible packaging solution for the food industry.

The new product, which aligned with circular economy principles, was designed to meet the industry’s need for both technical performance and sustainability.

The Metalvac range was known for its heat-sealability and barrier properties against light, water vapour, oxygen and aroma, all while being per and polyfluoroalkyl substances-free.

In the same month, Lecta added new paperboard grades to its EraCup range, tailored to address the sustainability needs of disposable packaging in the foodservice sector.
