Siegwerk has introduced Cirkit Novaseal, a dedicated line of heat-seal lacquers under its Cirkit coatings range.

The line is intended for fibre-based packaging and certain flexible packaging formats, with use by brand owners and converters working on packaging changes linked to sustainability.

Siegwerk said Cirkit Novaseal brings together its circular economy approach and its experience in heat sealing, drawing on experience and technologies obtained through the Allinova acquisition within a single product line.

The heat-seal lacquers are made for sealing consistency, hot-tack results and bond strength across different packaging uses.

The range includes products with varying characteristics and performance profiles, including options suited to gravure and flexographic printing and to different sealing temperature needs.

According to the company, the line includes versions with low seal initiation temperatures for processing efficiency, strong hot tack for high-speed packaging operations, and bond strength at low coating weights to support converting methods such as flexo and gravure.

The structure of the range is meant to help converters choose lacquer products according to application method, performance requirements and end-use needs.

Within Siegwerk’s Cirkit brand, the Novaseal line has been developed with circularity in mind.

The range is aimed at paper-based packaging and selected flexible applications, combining functional use with packaging designs intended to support recyclability.

Cirkit Novaseal products are already on the market and are backed by Siegwerk’s technical service and application support.

Siegwerk circular economy coatings head Gilles Le Moigne said: “Cirkit Novaseal is a key milestone in strengthening our coatings offering for sustainable packaging.

“By unifying our heat‑sealing expertise under one strong product brand, we make it easier for customers to navigate performance requirements while aligning with circular economy goals.”

In March, Siegwerk received RecyClass Technology Approval for its nitrocellulose-free flexo ink system, UR 62, and gravure ink system, UR 74.
