Packaging company TricorBraun has opened a warehouse in Laval, Quebec, extending its distribution footprint in Canada.

The site is intended to place stock closer to companies in Quebec, with the company saying this should cut delivery times, improve availability and add flexibility to supply chains.

The warehouse is near Highways 15 and 440, giving access to transport links used for deliveries within the region and across the border.

TricorBraun said the facility would help it provide quicker and more consistent deliveries through locally held stock, shorter transport routes and reduced exposure to shipping disruption.

It said the added space and inventory in Quebec would also support customers facing urgent orders, seasonal peaks or rising demand.

The company listed further benefits from the site, including simpler logistics through revised delivery routes and less dependence on goods sent from outside the province.

It also noted that the warehouse would support inventory release programmes linked to production requirements and shifting demand while allowing customers to hold reduced stock levels.

TricorBraun added that Quebec-based resources would help with faster coordination and customer service.

The facility is in Écoparc Laval 15, a sustainable industrial development in Québec, and is pursuing LEED Silver (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and ZCB (Zero Carbon Building) certifications.

Founded in 1902, TricorBraun operates with more than 2,300 packaging professionals across over 100 locations in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

The company is a portfolio business of Ares, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and AEA Investors.

TricorBraun Canada regional vice-president Yvan Lapointe said: “This investment reflects TricorBraun’s continued commitment to strengthening our Canadian operations and supporting the growing needs of our customers.

“Quebec is one of the country’s most important logistics and manufacturing hubs, and establishing a local presence here allows us to be closer to the businesses we serve as they scale and evolve.”
