Spanish sustainable packaging solutions provider Saica Group is constructing a new corrugated board manufacturing plant in Anderson, in the US state of Indiana.

The facility will form part of Saica Pack, the group’s corrugated packaging division.

The project was announced in March 2025, and construction officially began with a ground-breaking ceremony in October 2025.

The development represents an investment of more than $110m and is part of the company’s broader $800m investment plan in the US.

Operations at the new facility are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Initially, the plant will employ 50 full-time staff, with the potential to expand to more than 100 positions as production increases over time.

Saica Pack’s corrugated packaging manufacturing facility details

Saica Pack will develop a 350,000ft² facility designed to produce more than 1,200,000 million ft² (110 million m²) of corrugated packaging.

The complex will include manufacturing, converting and production zones, together with warehousing and office areas.

To enhance operational efficiency, the facility will incorporate an automated intralogistics system to manage production, storage and distribution flows.

The site is connected to a rail line, which will facilitate the unloading and shipping of paper rolls, helping to reduce transportation costs.

The new plant will expand Saica’s service coverage in the Midwest and strengthen its regional platform.

It will also serve as a backup to the Saica Pack facility in Hamilton, Ohio, bolstering supply chain resilience.

Details of grants and credits

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has agreed to allocate up to $2m equivalent in performance-tied tax credits and up to $150,000 for workforce training to Saica Group.

Additional support includes up to $300,000 from the Industrial Development Grant Fund to facilitate infrastructure works at the new facility.

These tax incentives are contingent on the company meeting hiring requirements for local employees.
