UK’s Cobalt Systems has launched a new end-of-line packaging automation range, adding box erectors, case sealers and pallet wrappers.

The expansion enables manufacturers to deploy smart packaging automation that eases processes and manual handling, lowers physical footprint and offers “fully integrated, scalable end-of-line solutions”, as per a press release from the company.

The range includes CoForm case erectors offered as semi-automatic units that double as ergonomic packing stations or fully automatic machines that adapt to various RSC box sizes with a touchscreen for quick changeovers.

It also includes CoSeal case sealers in semi- and fully automatic variants, with the semi-automatic option providing fast, “consistent” top-and-bottom sealing (optional pack table).

The fully automatic models run unattended except for tape loading, covering high-throughput batch systems up to fully automatic random sealers.

Besides, the range features CoWrap pallet wrappers in semi- and fully automatic models.

The semi-automatic variant comprises a motorised pre-stretch system, whereas the fully automatic turntable format is said to support “seamless” production-line integration and consistent, secure wraps with minimal operator input.

Cobalt Systems managing director Tony Hunt said: “As manufacturing environments become more sophisticated, our customers want end-of-line processes that are fully coordinated rather than pieced together.

“By introducing CoForm, CoSeal and CoWrap, we can now deliver integrated solutions that maintain continuity across case forming, sealing, labelling and pallet wrapping. It’s about precision, process reliability and operator ergonomics, all delivered in a modular format that grows with the customer’s needs.”

A defining feature is direct integration with Cobalt’s print-and-apply technology

This allows modular configurations where erecting, sealing, labelling and wrapping operate as a single system to boost throughput, reduce bottlenecks and improve end-of-line reliability.

The company said that the portfolio expansion reflects customer engagement and rising demand for autonomous packaging automation.

This enables customers to consolidate equipment, standardise processes and scale more easily, the provider of automated print and apply labelling and barcode solutions noted.
