Chinese company Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy Group has chosen Swiss carton packaging and filling machines supplier SIG’s innovative combismile package to complement its new Zhenguoli’ long-life yoghurt with coconut chips and berry jams in an effort to lure mobile consumers looking for a convenient yet nutritious on-the-go option.

The Chinese firm has upgraded the ambient yoghurt category with the new ‘Zhenguoli’ range to cater to growing demands of the mobile generation in the country.

“It is essential we have found the perfect packaging solution to complement such an important on-the-go innovation for our Zhenguoli brand.”

The new ‘Zhenguoli’ yoghurt comes in two flavours, Blueberry and Strawberry, and is made from real coconut chips and ingredients, such as probiotic strain from Denmark and blueberries from North America.

Mengniu Group Milk Beverage Marketing director Ying Xu said: “Standing out in terms of premium taste and image appeal, it is essential we have found the perfect packaging solution to complement such an important on-the-go innovation for our Zhenguoli brand.

Mengniu and SIG worked on identifying a packaging solution that meets the image requirements and convenience needs of consumers.

Combismile has ‘smart’ curves, ‘modern’ shape and easy-to-grip corners and offers a metallic finish to reinforce Zhenguoli’s premium image.

The new premium ambient yoghurt range comes in combismileSmall 200ml and features an extra-wide straw.

Each combismile-filling machine has the capacity to deliver 24,000 packs per hour and offers filling volume flexibility and drinksplus capability through opening and straw applicators.
