Wood packaging solution provider Pujolasos has launched a new glue-free wood cap featuring recyclable plastic inner.

Named as Woodle, the product is designed to address the perfumery and cosmetics industries’ growing demand for sustainable caps.

The cap has been manufactured using natural materials such as wood. The plastic inner can be separated and disposed of post use for recycling, according to the company.

Woodle can be applied to current and future developments in perfumery or cosmetics with focus on sustainability. It can also be applied to any material that involves similar plastic innovation and is not limited to just wood.

Moreover, the plastic inner can be injected in post-consumer recycled material to boost sustainability.

In November last year, Pujolasos launched Woork. The innovation is 100% organic and compostable system.

It was developed in response to the increasing demand of the beauty sector for a completely organic, natural, ecological and compostable wooden cap, according to the company.

The 100% compostable cap was made entirely from natural materials, such as wood and cork. It removes the use of plastic inner parts and glues.

In January this year, Finnish dairy product manufacturer Valio and pulp and paper manufacturer Stora Enso planned to introduce wood fibre-based reusable lids made from a biocomposite.
