German-based international OEM and solution provider for speciality printing systems, DTM Print, has released a selection of eco-friendly, recycled labels under a new line DTM EcoTec.

DTM Print PR manager Katrin Hoffman said: “We looked for label material that is eco-friendly, uses less virgin resources and still offers the same benefits in printing quality and resistance as other materials. We decided to bundle all our eco-friendly, recyclable or natural label material in a dedicated label material line.”

According to Katrin, businesses that invest in using eco-friendly materials will not only benefit the printing and packaging industry but also save the planet and protect the environment.

The new EcoTec lines consists of Hemp paper, Grass paper, Paper Matte Nature and Poly Clear Gloss R90. Each material bares eco-friendly properties and an adhesive that is water soluble.

Hemp Paper consists of 100% hemp fibre. It’s tear-resistant and can be recycled very often.

Grass Paper reduces the amount of water needed in the production process and contains an adhesive which can be in direct contact with food according to EU regulation No 10/2011.

Paper Matte Nature is made from 100% recycled backing from used label rolls and Poly Clear Gloss R90 consists of 90% post-consumer recycled (PCR) PET material.

DTM Print label specialist Albion Bekolli said: “Every product leaves a footprint on our planet, and using label material that is environmentally friendly and sustainable helps to keep it as small as possible.”

DTM Print will introduce its DTM EcoTec substrates at Natural & Organic Products Europe in London, 16-17 April 2023.

In recent labelling news, multinational label and adhesive company Avery Dennison has unveiled its new Neck Label Collection for the drinks industry, made with an innovative adhesive.
