Munksjö has announced that its Stenay mill in France has been awarded OHSAS 18001:2007 certification for its Occupational Health and Safety Management System by SGS accreditation body.

Stenay mill is already certified according to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004, respectively for its quality and environmental management systems. This triple management system certification is a good foundation striving for continuous improvement.

Rune Årnes, vice-president health and safety, said: "At Munksjö, we are committed to follow the strictest standards in health and safety management for our employees but also customers and stakeholders. By achieving this milestone, Stenay mill has aligned its practices and processes with continuous improvement in line with the Group’s expectations."

This triple certification provides us with a solid framework for constant improvement. We continuously aim at delivering high-quality products and service to our customers, manufactured in a sustainable way and with superior health and safety conditions."

Munksjö has 15 sites, with 12 are production sites. Eleven are now certified according to OHSAS:18001:2007.

Stenay mill employs 205 employees and is part of the Business Area Graphics and Packaging. This production site is specialised in the manufacturing of one-side coated papers for flexible packaging, metallizing, labelling, as well as release liners and other papers for industrial applications. The site is certified according to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, FSC® and PEFC™ Chain-of-Custody.
