Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 53.91% in April 2021, a 45.31% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.65% in April 2021, marking a 27.03% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.62% in April 2021, a 27.03% growth from March 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 114.49% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry during April 2021 over previous month.
Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India posted 57 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a an increase of 159.09% over the previous month, followed by British American Tobacco with 30 jobs and a 15flat growth. Signify with 24 IT jobs and Carrier Global with 20 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 566.67% increase, respectively, while General Mills recorded an 112.5% an increase with 17 job postings during April 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 40% share in April 2021, a 45.26% rise over March 2021. China featured next with an 18.84% share, up 80.56% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 7.83% share, a growth of 12.5% compared with March 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.88%, up by 48.5% from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.74% share, a growth of 4.17% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.09% share, down 58.82% over March 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.29%, recording a month-on-month growth of %.
