UK-based company British American Tobacco’s IT hiring increased by 17.4% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 1.36% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 5.33% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 0.65% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops British American Tobacco IT hiring in July 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by British American Tobacco, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 44.16% in July 2021, and a 47.83% growth over June 2021, while Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a share of 31.17% in July 2021, and registered a 140% an increase. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.69% in July 2021, a 200% rise from June 2021.

Europe drives IT hiring at British American Tobacco

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global packaging IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 41.56% share, which marked a 39.13% growth over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 32.47%, registering a 66.67% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 23.38% share and a 50% growth over June 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 2.6% and a month-on-month decline of 33.33%.

Malaysia commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 27.27% share in July 2021, a 61.54% growth over June 2021. the UK featured next with a 15.58% share, up 100% over the previous month.Romania recorded a 14.29% share, an increase of 22.22% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead British American Tobacco IT hiring activity in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 46.75%, up by 20% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 36.36% share, a growth of 86.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.88% share, up 44.44% over June 2021.
