Notably, Production Occupations jobs accounted for a 21% share of the global packaging industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q3 2023, down 3% over the prior quarter.
Production Occupations drive social responsibility-related hiring activity
Production Occupations, with a share of 21%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the packaging industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 3% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 13% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 8% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent social responsibility roles include Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with an 8% share in Q3 2023, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in packaging industry accounted for 39% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Pregis, Ball, Pactiv Evergreen, ProAmpac, and International Paper. Together they accounted for a combined share of 39% of all social responsibility-related new jobs in the packaging industry.
Pregis posted 354 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Ball 353 jobs, Pactiv Evergreen 249 jobs, ProAmpac 232 jobs, and International Paper 184 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 76.72% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the packaging industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 76.72% followed by the UK (5.78%) and Canada (2.88%). The share represented by the US was four percentage points higher than the 73.22% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
