July 2021 has seen a decrease of 1.43% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.53% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 49.14% in July 2021, a 1.58% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.87% in July 2021, marking a 1.22% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.76% in July 2021, a 7.52% drop from June 2021.

Top five packaging companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 0.59% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s packaging industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Ball posted 182 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 12.08% over the previous month, followed by Under Armour with 54 jobs and a 100% growth. PepsiCo with 44 IT jobs and JBS with 29 jobs, recorded a 7.32% growth and a 163.64% increase, respectively, while Peloton Interactive recorded a 48.08% decline with 27 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s packaging industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 91.01% share in July 2021, a 1.45% decline over June 2021. Mexico featured next with a 4.97% share, up 44.44% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 4.02% share, a growth of 27.27% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.6%, up by 7.05% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.51% share, a decline of 15.09% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 21.41% share, up 7.69% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.48%, recording a month-on-month decline of 44.44%.
