Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 36.84% in June 2021, a 40% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 26.32% in June 2021, marking a 6.25% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 15.79% in June 2021, a 30.77% drop from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 31.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s packaging industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Kimberly-Clark posted 11 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 22.22% over the previous month, followed by BRF with 7 jobs and a 16.67% growth. Alpargatas with 5 IT jobs and FreudenbergKG with 4 jobs, recorded a 66.67% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Nestle recorded a 50% decline with 2 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s packaging industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 45.61% share in June 2021, a 13.04% rise over May 2021. Argentina featured next with a 14.04% share, down 38.46% over the previous month. Colombia recorded a 12.28% share, a growth of 133.33% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.95%, up by 15.38% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 10.53% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.53% share, up 50% over May 2021.
