The UK packaging industry registered a 10.7% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 4.36% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.32% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK packaging industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 48.65% in June 2021, an 8% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 20.72% share, decline of 14.81% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 17.12%, registering a 26.92% decline from May 2021.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 9.91%, up 120% over the previous month.

Top five packaging companies in the UK IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.89% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK packaging industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

iRobot posted 16 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 6.67% over the previous month, followed by Fujitsu General with 14 jobs and a flat growth. Greencore Group with 12 IT jobs and Unilever with 7 jobs, recorded a 71.43% growth and a 16.67% increase, respectively, while British American Tobacco recorded a 54.55% decline with 5 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.16%, down by 22.47% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with an 18.92% share, a growth of 40% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.02% share, up 100% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.9%, recording a month-on-month an flat growth.
