The US packaging industry registered a 2.6% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 1.03% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.28% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.34% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US packaging industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.3% in June 2021, a 1.21% drop over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.95% share, an increase of 11.19% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12.86%, registering a 4.63% rise from May 2021.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 10.69%, up 22.08% over the previous month.

Top five packaging companies in the US IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.69% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US packaging industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Ball posted 195 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 5.98% over the previous month, followed by Coca-Cola Consolidated with 31 jobs and a 55% growth. Under Armour with 27 IT jobs and Carrier Global with 24 jobs, recorded a 3.57% drop and a 56.36% decline, respectively, while PepsiCo recorded an 187.5% an increase with 23 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.01%, down by 23.86% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.37% share, a growth of 40.25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 21.05% share, up 62.28% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.57%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 400%.
