IFCO, the global provider of Reusable Packaging Containers (RPCs), is strengthening its collaboration with FareShare and The Felix Project, two prominent food redistribution charities in the UK.
The primary objective of this three-way partnership is to simplify and expedite the process of donating surplus food from producers, suppliers and retailers to these charitable organisations.
Simultaneously, it aims to enhance the safe and efficient delivery of fresh, nutritious food to individuals in need.
Both FareShare and The Felix Project work closely with the food industry to rescue good surplus food that would otherwise be wasted, sent to landfills, or subject to anaerobic digestion.
Expediting donations and ensuring safety with IFCO RPCs
To reinforce its commitment to reducing food waste in the fresh produce supply chain, IFCO has made it even more convenient for suppliers and retailers to donate fresh produce in their Reusable Packaging Containers (RPCs) to the FareShare and The Felix Project networks.
Although food donations alone do not offer a long-term solution to food poverty, IFCO recognises the vital role of professionally redistributing quality surplus food.
