Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 42.22% in May 2022, a 39.39% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 22.16% in May 2022, marking a 42.37% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 16.36% in May 2022, an 8.82% drop from April 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1.14% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Haier Group posted 47 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 7.84% over the previous month, followed by Panasonic with 44 jobs and a 2.33% growth. Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 42 IT jobs and Nestle with 26 jobs, recorded a 162.5% rise and a 51.85% drop, respectively, while Masan Group recorded a 63.64% increase with 18 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 55.67% share in May 2022, a 27.99% decrease over April 2022. China featured next with a 13.72% share, down 16.13% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 7.12% share, a drop of 10% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.71%, down by 21.18% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.53% share, registered a decline of 22.92% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.97% share, up 54.55% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.79%, recording a month-on-month decline of 25%.
