Asia-Pacific witnessed a 12.0% drop in IT hiring activity in the packaging industry in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
September 2021 has seen a decrease of 7.16% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.44% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 0.03% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 52.38% in September 2021, a 4.03% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.95% in September 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.65% in September 2021, a 40.3% drop from August 2021.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 8.06% in September 2021, a 4.76% rise over the previous month.
Top five packaging companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 19.44% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Unilever posted 29 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 23.68% over the previous month, followed by Reckitt Benckiser Group with 25 jobs and a 19.35% drop. Coca-Cola Amatil with 14 IT jobs and British American Tobacco with 11 jobs, recorded a 55.56% rise and a 63.33% drop, respectively, while Carlsberg recorded a flat growth with 8 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 42.86% share in September 2021, a 23.03% decrease over August 2021. Australia featured next with a 16.85% share, up 4.55% over the previous month. China recorded a 13.19% share, a drop of 18.18% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.47%, down by 16.98% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.54% share, registered a decline of 22.99% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.16% share, down 24.24% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.83%, recording a month-on-month growth of 25%.
