Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 34.41% in October 2022, a 38.22% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 21.53% in October 2022, marking a 13% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 20.54% in October 2022, a 7.78% drop from September 2022.

Top five packaging companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 29.27% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Charoen Pokphand Foods Public posted 37 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 51.32% over the previous month, followed by PepsiCo with 30 jobs and an 114.29% growth. Haier Group with 30 IT jobs and Panasonic with 25 jobs, recorded a 62.03% drop and a 30.56% drop, respectively, while McCain Foods recorded a flat growth with 23 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 51.98% share in October 2022, a 24.19% decrease over September 2022. China featured next with a 15.84% share, down 34.02% over the previous month. Philippines recorded a 6.44% share, a drop of 3.7% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.57%, down by 31.75% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.76% share, registered a growth of 10.34% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.67% share, down 8.82% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.99%, recording a month-on-month growth of 33.33%.
