China’s packaging industry registered a 10.7% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.36% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.6% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s packaging industry in May 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 48.08% in May 2022, registering a 41.86% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.08% share, a decrease of 7.69% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 19.23%, registering a 100% rise from April 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.77%, up 200% over the previous month.
Top five packaging companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 12.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s packaging industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
Haier Group posted 41 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a drop of 12.77% over the previous month, followed by Bose with 3 jobs and a 50% growth. Avery Dennison with 2 IT jobs and The Coca-Cola with 2 jobs, recorded a 66.67% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Bunge recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 84.62%, down by 13.73% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 7.69% share, registered a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.77% share, down 25% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.92%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
