Mexico’s packaging industry registered a 12.1% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.69% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.9% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.71% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s packaging industry in September 2022.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 36% in September 2022, registering a 6.9% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 29.33% share, an increase of 83.33% over the previous month.

3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 24%, registering a 14.29% decline from August 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.33%, down 66.67% over the previous month.

Top five packaging companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 30.95% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s packaging industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV posted 15 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 31.82% over the previous month, followed by Amcor with 14 jobs and a 600% growth. Diageo with 10 IT jobs and The Coca-Cola with 9 jobs, recorded a 66.67% growth and an 800% growth, respectively, while Anheuser-Busch InBev recorded a decline of 36.36% with 7 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.33%, down by 3.33% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16% share, registered an increase of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.67% share, down 44.44% over August 2022.
