Middle East & Africa witnessed a 19.4% drop in IT hiring activity in the packaging industry in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

June 2022 has seen a decrease of 9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.2% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.61% over the last three-month average share.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in June 2022

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 42.86% in June 2022, a 50% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 23.81% in June 2022, marking a 37.5% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 19.05% in June 2022, a 50% drop from May 2022.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers registered a share of 14.29% in June 2022, a 57.14% decline over the previous month.

Top five packaging companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 160% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s packaging industry during June 2022 over previous month.

Compagnie Financiere Richemont posted 4 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Edita Food Industries with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Nampak with 2 IT jobs and The Body Shop International with 2 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Tiger Brands recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during June 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s packaging industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 33.33% share in June 2022, a 41.67% decrease over May 2022. Egypt featured next with a 19.05% share, down 20% over the previous month. United Arab Emirates recorded a 19.05% share, a growth of 300% compared with May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 90.48%, down by 26.92% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 9.52% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
