Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 34.37% in September 2022, a 2% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.98% in September 2022, marking a 9.14% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 20.93% in September 2022, a 3.33% rise from August 2022.

Top five packaging companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 15.96% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s packaging industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Ball posted 124 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 1.59% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 108 jobs and a 31.71% growth. Carrier Global with 80 IT jobs and Amcor with 77 jobs, recorded a 19.4% rise and a 75% rise, respectively, while Petco Health and WellnessInc recorded a 7.32% decline with 76 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s packaging industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with an 89.67% share in September 2022, a 4.73% increase over August 2022. Canada featured next with a 5.27% share, up 39.29% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 5.06% share, a drop of 2.6% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.6%, up by 3.9% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20.59% share, registered a growth of 33.77% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 19.38% share, down 11.42% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.36%, recording a month-on-month growth of 25%.
