June 2022 has seen a decrease of 9.34% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.75% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering an increase of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 33.44% in June 2022, a 17.61% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 22.51% in June 2022, marking a 23.89% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 21.77% in June 2022, a 7.34% drop from May 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 11.42% in June 2022, a 13.13% decline over the previous month.
Top five packaging companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 4.71% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s packaging industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Ball posted 125 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 13.64% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 102 jobs and a 72.88% growth. Carrier Global with 60 IT jobs and PepsiCo with 51 jobs, recorded a 28.57% drop and a 30.14% drop, respectively, while Haier Group recorded a 14.29% increase with 40 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s packaging industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 90.63% share in June 2022, a 15.48% decrease over May 2022. Mexico featured next with a 6.49% share, up 8.22% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 2.88% share, a drop of 50% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.64%, down by 17.45% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.98% share, registered a decline of 19.23% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.9% share, down 7.26% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.48%, recording a month-on-month decline of 10%.
