North America witnessed a 6.9% drop in IT hiring activity in the packaging industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
July 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.29% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.71% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 34.42% in July 2022, a 16.8% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.55% in July 2022, marking a 5.92% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 22.32% in July 2022, a 16.13% drop from June 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 9.79% in July 2022, a 30.91% decline over the previous month.
Top five packaging companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 3.96% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s packaging industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Ball posted 134 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 7.2% over the previous month, followed by PepsiCo with 61 jobs and a 1.67% growth. Bunge with 41 IT jobs and Carrier Global with 40 jobs, recorded a 41.38% rise and a 41.18% drop, respectively, while Petco Health and WellnessInc recorded an 85.71% increase with 39 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s packaging industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with an 89.96% share in July 2022, a 17.87% decrease over June 2022. Mexico featured next with a 5.58% share, down 28.57% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 4.46% share, a growth of 10.64% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.14%, down by 21.26% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.92% share, registered a decline of 0.74% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.31% share, down 24.3% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.63%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
