North America witnessed a 14.2% rise in IT hiring activity in the packaging industry in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

March 2022 has seen an increase of 5.16% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.93% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 53.22% in March 2022, a 29.78% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.97% in March 2022, marking a 15.87% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.84% in March 2022, a 67.82% rise from February 2022.

Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 10.15% in March 2022, a 4.92% decline over the previous month.

Top five packaging companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 83.43% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s packaging industry during March 2022 over previous month.

Nestle posted 332 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 260.87% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 234 jobs and a 7.83% growth. Rich Products with 184 IT jobs and Ball with 101 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 3.81% drop, respectively.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s packaging industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 95.14% share in March 2022, a 32.56% increase over February 2022. Mexico featured next with a 2.58% share, down 53.17% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 2.28% share, a growth of 15.56% compared with February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.88%, up by 32.86% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.79% share, registered a growth of 16.36% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.81% share, up 19.25% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.53%, recording a month-on-month decline of 14.29%.
