Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 52.64% in September 2021, a 10.83% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 18.61% in September 2021, marking a 3.56% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10.22% in September 2021, a 31.55% drop from August 2021.

Top five packaging companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 9.73% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s packaging industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Ball posted 263 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 8.68% over the previous month, followed by Carrier Global with 85 jobs and a 107.32% growth. Hallmark Cards with 33 IT jobs and JBS with 32 jobs, recorded a 32% rise and a 33.33% drop, respectively, while PepsiCo recorded a 40% decline with 27 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s packaging industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 95.37% share in September 2021, a 7.8% decrease over August 2021. Mexico featured next with a 2.32% share, down 47.27% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 2.32% share, a drop of 9.38% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.6%, down by 13.06% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 24.04% share, registered a decline of 1.95% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 23.48% share, down 8.98% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.88%, recording a month-on-month growth of 22.22%.
