August 2022 has seen an increase of 3.9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.73% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 35.38% in August 2022, an 8.35% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.17% in August 2022, marking a 6.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 21.82% in August 2022, a 2.49% rise from July 2022.

Top five packaging companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 45.09% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s packaging industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Ball posted 123 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 8.21% over the previous month, followed by Petco Health and WellnessInc with 82 jobs and a 105% growth. The J. R. Simplot with 73 IT jobs and Carrier Global with 65 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 62.5% rise, respectively, while PepsiCo recorded an 8.2% decline with 56 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s packaging industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 90.3% share in August 2022, an 8.46% increase over July 2022. Mexico featured next with a 5.76% share, down 17.39% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.94% share, a drop of 3.7% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.56%, up by 4.18% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.26% share, registered a growth of 6.23% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.14% share, up 9.79% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.05%, recording a month-on-month growth of 35%.
